Mobile Induction: e-learning on the go!
"M Learning "or "Mobile Learning" refers to any learning that does not take place at the person's computer. With 4 out of every 5 people accessing the internet doing so by a mobile phone, it is vital that any e-learning induction created will work across multiple platforms.
Traditional e-learning will not work on a mobile device however; the small screen dimensions make reading standard 14pt text impossible on a smart phone, videos take too long to download and buttons become hard to differentiate and click on cleanly. In short a whole new approach needs to be taken to tackle m-learning effectively.
e-Start has created 'm- induction' which can be run on a mobile device as a pre-downloaded App available on the Apple App Store or Google Play. These Apps have simplified interfaces to make accessing the e-learning easy on the smaller screens, and the e-learning with its large text and use of video presenters and voiceovers, make it a joy to use. Search your App store for e-Start Induction to download a white labelled example.
Best of all because the development process is the same for e-learning as well as m-learning, there is very little additional cost to getting the induction to work multi-platform.
Example M-Learning Project
The following example e-Learning project demonstrates how m-induction e-learning works:
The m-learning induction course has been downloaded onto the smartphone. The user can simply delete the App when they have have completed the training as the induction records will all be stored on the cloud.
The user can choose to simply run the induction course or record data in the Learning Management System (you need an account with e-Start to do this.)
The user logs in using the same user name and password they have been supplied to access their induction e-Learning course on their PC.
The induction course is selected and it can then be run on the device.
e-start's unique style of e-learning induction ideally suits the smartphone interface. Seeing a presenter walk across your phone has a sort of magic to it. This is an induction training that will make the right first impression.
To view a 'white labelled' induction e-learning course on your mobile, visit the App Store and search for "e-start Induction".
Commissioning an M-Learning Induction
The same development process is used to create e-learning as it is to produce m-learning - this means you are effectively getting twice as much for your e-learning budget. The e-learning induction course can simply be saved as a smartphone App and then is freely available for your users to download onto their Apple or Android Devices.
